Healthcare Worker Training to Introduce Dolutegravir for the Treatment of HIV Infection

The National Department of Health is introducing a new drug, Dolutegravir (DTG), in combination with Tenofovir (TDF) and Lamivudine (3TC). The combination of TDF/3TC/DTG is known as TLD. The objectives of this training are to:

  • Provide guidance on initiation of ART in antiretroviral-na├»ve clients as well as those returning to care in the era of dolutegravir (DTG)
  • Provide guidance for switching clients already on ART to DTG-containing regimens
  • Highlight critical areas for provision of integrated ART, TB, hepatitis and family planning services
