COVID-19 Vaccine Implementation Guide and Toolkit

COVID-19 Vaccine Implementation Guide and Toolkit

This implementation guide and toolkit has been developed to guide COVID-19 vaccine introduction within the community, workplace and congregate settings in both the private and public health sectors. It provides up to date guidance on critical actions required for service delivery, and outlines the coordination structures and mechanisms that need to be in place at district level to ensure smooth planning and implementation, as well as monitoring and evaluation. The guideline is based on best practices and experience gained from the routine immunisation programme. In line with standard practice during introduction of new vaccines, the guide focusses on good governance, planning and coordination, regulatory issues, prioritisation, service delivery, monitoring and evaluation, vaccines (including cold chain and logistics), safety surveillance, demand generation and communication. The roll-out of the COVID-19 vaccination programme will continue over an extended period of time. As we learn from the experiences of implementation, strategies and approaches may need to be adjusted and refined. This COVID-19 Vaccine Implementation Guide and Toolkit may, therefore, be subject to revision.
